Bamboo joins MYX as celebrity VJ
MANILA – Rock singer Bamboo Mañalac adds another feather to his cap as he joins the local cable music channel MYX as its celebrity VJ for the month of July.
The singer-composer, known simply as Bamboo, is set to host a number of programs such as “Pinoy MYX,” “Rock MYX,” “MYX Backtrack” and “My Myx,” which grants song requests from viewers of the Philippines’ No. 1 music channel.
Bamboo currently sits as a coach on the reality singing competition “The Voice of the Philippines,” along with Lea Salonga, apl.de.ap of The Black Eyed Peas, and Sarah Geronimo.
MYX recently updated its lineup of VJs, which now include singer-actor Sam Concepcion, former courtside reporter Ai dela Cruz and blogger Karla Aguas. The three join mainstay VJs join Nikki Gil, Chino Lui Pio and Iya Villania.
Other celebrities who had a guest stint on MYX include acoustic singer Marie Digby, “It’s Showtime” host Billy Crawford and Karylle, local band Sponge Cola and actor Piolo Pascual, among others.
