The anthem, “Hoy Pinoy ako! Buo aking loob, may agimat ang dugo ko! Hoy! Oh Pinoy ako…may agimat ang dugo ko,” echoed inside the foyers of Megamall and Southmall last Wednesday, June 12,2013 as everyone remembered the 115th Year of the Philippines’ Independence. The crowd felt like they were being transported to another dimension as Bamboo sang songs that reminded them of their Filipino fate and blood and just swayed to the beat and responded with a resounding, “Hoy,oh,Pinoy ako!”
One of the fans even said that, that was the best Independence Day celebration he has ever had. “Bamboo is the perfect person to sing this anthemic song. It’s like a history being unfolded right in front of us!”
Bamboo also sang Tatsulok, Hallelujah, and songs from his first solo album, No Water No Moon. He even shared the microphone with his fans when he performed Carousel in front of the happy crowd.
“Great crowd..Thanks #BMLFanatics for helping out with “Carousel” You guys were great :) On our way south…,” Bamboo tweeted after doing his performance.
A few hours after the first mall show, Bamboo was again welcomed by thousands of fans waiting at the lobby of Southmall waiting for their albums to be signed and experience a concert that they’d been wanting to watch.
After the concert, Polyeast Roecords also organized a meet and greet for the fans.
“Southmall…that wasn’t a mall show …that was a concert. Wow #BMLFanatics thanks 4 making D trek frm Megamall -SouthMall. U guys R awesome,” Bamboo tweeted after the event.
He also thanked everyone for patiently waiting in line during the meet and greet. “Thanks to those who decided 2 stay and watch..”
And added, “But was planning to see man of steel :)”
